Not that long ago scientists thought the outer layer of the skin, the epidermis, was made up of flat, dead skin cells that had no interaction with living skin cells. Today, we know this is not true. There are very active layers within the epidermis featuring intricate interaction between the cells in the epidermis and the growing, lively cells located in the deeper (dermis) layers of the skin. This is truly significant because if the cells in our epidermis are communicating with cells in the lower layers, we can positively influence the health of our skin on a much deeper level. That’s why it’s so important to apply ingredients that have proven to be effective at a proper dosage and concentration. More importantly, the nontoxic ingredients you apply must be bioactive and safe.

- Instalift™ (Lycium Barbarum – Goji Berry Fruit Extract) is a polypeptide that improves skin firmness by 26.8% after 1 hour.
- Argireline™ (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3) is a neuropeptide that is proven to reduce wrinkle depth up to 30%.
- Eyeseryl® (Acetyl Tetrapeptide–5) aids in eliminating fluid retention and regulates blood flow to reduce dark circles and puffiness in the eye area.
In addition to peptides, many standardized, concentrated herbal and fruit extracts are also bioactive. SCO2 Totarol™ from the totara tree in New Zealand has been shown to be effective against bacteria that can cause acne. Resveratrol from giant knotweed has anti-aging effects and is a powerful antioxidant.
